Colby-Sawyer Athletics

Sally Shaw Veitch has had a powerful and enduring impact on athletics at Colby-Sawyer College, from her time as a student-athlete to her leadership role in creating a winning environment for our athletes. While earning her A.A. degree, she threw herself into playing intramural sports and was an enthusiastic member of the athletic association. She went on to earn a bachelor's degree at the University of Denver and find professional success in Colorado. She raised her family there and is an avid fan of the state's professional sports teams.  No matter where life takes her, though, her heart remains at Colby-Sawyer. A loyal and supportive alumna, she has returned to campus for reunions and President's Alumni Advisory Council meetings.  In 2011, she was elected to Board of Trustees and inducted into the Legends Society in honor of her extraordinary philanthropy. When it comes to significant contributions in the name of advancing our Chargers, few have been as dedicated. Time and again, she has stepped up to improve our students' experiences. Her generous support helped to complete a new field house floor in 2007, and in 2011, she made the lead gift for the artificial turf field and track that now bear her name. These and so many other transformative gifts have impacted the lives of Colby-Sawyer students, as well as the surrounding community, and they will continue to do so for generations.
