Allyson Le-Bruno is arguably the best libero to have played volleyball at Colby-Sawyer. Her numbers back it up as she holds numerous career and single season records. She is the all-time leader in digs with 2577 and digs per set at 5.49. The 2577 digs is also a New England Women’s Volleyball Association (NEWVA) record. In addition, Allyson is the single-season record-holder in digs with 768 and has four of the top nine totals. Her 6.24 digs per set in 2010 is a record and 6.02 in 2011 is second best. Those two marks ranked her 12th and 15th in the nation for those years, respectively. Allyson also holds the record for most digs in a match with 44, which is also the most in a four-set match. She also collected 30 digs in three sets for a record. She also ranks fifth all-time in aces with 230.
Allyson is the only four-time conference Libero/Defensive Player of the Year in program history. In her first season, she was named Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Libero of the Year, CCC First Team and to the NEWVA All-New England Rookie Team. As a sophomore, she earned Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Defensive Player of the Year, ECAC New England All-Star First Team, NAC Defensive Player of the Year, NAC First Team, American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) All-New England Honorable Mention and NEWVA All-New England Third Team accolades. In her final two seasons, Allyson was twice named NAC Defensive Player of the Year and twice a NAC First Team honoree.
Allyson helped lead the Chargers to three NAC championships and subsequent NCAA Tournament appearances. The Chargers were 28-2 in conference matches and 80-55 overall during Allyson’s playing career.
