Kirsten (Girard) Soroko was a four-year standout tennis player for Colby-Sawyer. She compiled 44 career singles wins and 35 career doubles victories, primarily playing as the first seed. Her singles wins total still ranks sixth in program history. In her first year, Kirsten earned the Coach's Award after helping the Chargers to an impressive 10 wins. For the next three seasons, Kirsten was named team captain and MVP after leading the squad on and off the court. She also earned two Athlete of the Year awards following her sophomore and junior campaigns. Kirsten also played basketball during her sophomore year. In addition to her prowess on the court, Kirsten also was involved on campus as student government president for two years. She also was a two-time recipient of the Barbara Stearns Johnson award. Kirsten has been able to share her passion and drive as an athlete with others as she teaches and empowers other athletes today. Her leadership skills as a team captain has carried her to much success as a leader in the community as an educator and coach.
