Amy Callahan receives HOF certificate from George Martin
Amy Callahan, who was inducted into the Colby-Sawyer Athletic Hall of Fame as a member of the 1999 Volleyball Team and the 1998-99 Basketball Team, played four years of each sport. She is one of two Colby-Sawyer student-athletes to win an NCAA Tournament first round contest in two different sports. Callahan's versatility and strong leadership resulted in much success throughout her career, which began in the fall each season. In her second year with the volleyball team, Callahan was an All-Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Second Team honoree and helped the Chargers to a conference championship, NCAA Tournament berth, and NCAA Tournament first round victory. She added an All-CCC Honorable Mention award in 2000 and finished her career on the All-CCC First Team and played in the New England Women's Volleyball Association (NEWVA) Senior Classic. Callahan remains in volleyball's top-10 in kills (851, 10th), solo blocks (96, 4th), kills per set (2.41, 8th), and attack percentage (.225, 10th). Following the volleyball season, she was able to transition seamlessly into basketball where her production continued to benefit the Chargers. She impacted the game in every aspect and had the ability to fill the stat sheet every time she was on the floor. Callahan was a member of the 1998-99 CCC Championship squad. She also garnered All-CCC Second Team honors as a junior and All-CCC Honorable Mention accolades in her senior season.
