NEW LONDON, N.H. – April 2, 2019 – Colby-Sawyer senior Brittany Ireland (Amherst, N.H.) and junior Kailyn Lapham (Medway, Mass.) have earned Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Women's Lacrosse weekly awards.

Ireland was named GNAC Player of the Week for the second week in a row, while Lapham was named Goalkeeper of the Week. Full GNAC Release > HERE

Ireland had another impressive week as the Chargers went 3-0. The senior posted seven points in each of the three games to lead the team with 21 for the week. She finished with nine goals and 12 assists to go along with 11 draw controls, five ground balls and four caused turnovers. Ireland began the week with three goals on four shots in a 15-4 win against Husson. She also had a game-high four assists against the Eagles. In the team's important 13-9 win over Emmanuel, Ireland posted a game-high seven points on four goals and three assists. She finished the week, in an 18-5 GNAC road win at Simmons, with a game-best seven points on two goals and five assists. Ireland also had a game-high six draws against the Sharks. She moved into 4th on Colby-Sawyer's all-time assists list with 54.

Lapham went 3-0 in goal last week. She logged 150 minutes and had a 6.40 goals against average and a 51.5 save percentage. In the win over Husson, Lapham played the first half and allowed two goals and made two saves. She also had a pair of ground balls and a caused turnover. In the 13-9 win over Emmanuel, the junior made six saves and added a game-best four ground balls and a caused turnover. She ended the week with an impressive performance at Simmons. Lapham had nine saves and let in just five goals. She added two ground balls and another caused turnover. She moved into fourth on Colby-Sawyer's all-time wins list with 16 victories.

Colby-Sawyer (6-2, 5-2 GNAC) plays at Fitchburg State today and hosts Castleton on Wednesday. The Chargers will return to GNAC play on Saturday with a home game against Albertus Magnus.
