New London, NH – The Chargers took on the Simmons Sharks on Saturday at Sally Shaw Veitch Field in front of the home crowd. Sophomore Lauren Vignola's (Ringwood, NJ) four-goal performance helped the Chargers to a 14-4 conference win.

90 seconds into the game, Rose Finlayson (Hopkinton, NH) put the Chargers up by a goal. Grace Joly (Windham, ME) doubled the Charger lead with 10:48 to go in the first quarter. The Charger offense continued with two goals from Vignola to give the Chargers a 4-0 lead. With under a minute left in the quarter, Madeline Knight (Pownal, ME) scored a goal for Colby-Sawyer.

Anika Jenkins (Tyngsboro, MA) and Joly both scored goals for the Chargers in the first four minutes of the second quarter. Bridget McNamara assisted Emily Horn's goal for the Sharks. Elena Bronson (Monkton, VT) scored a Charger goal about two minutes later. The last goal of the half came with 1:08 to go in the half when Cecilia Ponzini (Windham, NH) assisted Vignola's third of the day. The Chargers led 9-1 going into halftime.

Colby-Sawyer started the fourth quarter off with a goal, as Finlayson put the ball in the net. Horn's second goal of the day for Simmons came about two-and-a-half minutes later. Knight and Vignola (assisted by Finlayson) both scored to add to the goals scored for the Chargers. McNamara assisted Leah Finn for a Simmons goal in the last two minutes of the game. The Chargers won 14-4.
