Box Score NEW LONDON, N.H. – April 17 2014 – The Rhode Island College women's lacrosse team defeated Colby-Sawyer, 10-9 in overtime to spoil the Chargers' senior day celebrations, on Thursday afternoon at the Sally Shaw Veitch Track and Field.

Adrienne Bender (Wakefield, R.I.),
Amazjah Grant (Syracuse, N.Y.) and
Carly Stevens (Pittsfield, Mass.) were honored prior to the game.
BOX SCORERhode Island College evens its record to 5-5 and will play Wheelock on Saturday at noon at the Winsor School. The Chargers drop to 2-9 and will resume North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action on Saturday with a 10:00 a.m. contest against the University of Maine-Farmington. The game will be played at Kents Hill School in Kents Hill, Maine.
Colby-Sawyer held a 9-6 lead with four minutes to play in regulation before the Anchorwomen scored three straight goals in a span of 2:17 to tie the game at 9-9 and the send the game in to overtime. After a scoreless first three minutes, the teams swapped sides. RIC received the eventual game-winning goal from junior Danielle Landon (Wading River, N.Y.) with 2:03 left in the session. The Chargers made one last effort in the final seconds, but RIC goalie Taryn Carbone (Cranston, R.I.) foiled any chance with a caused turnover.
Landon and junior Jessica Ricci (Hope, R.I.) each scored four times in the Anchorwomen victory. Freshman Betsy Heidel (Warwick, R.I.) and junior Lauren Maisano (Bristol, R.I.) added a goal apiece. Carbone had 19 saves in goal.

Alyssia Janak (Bourne, Mass.) and senior
Adrienne Bender contributed a pair of goals apiece. Junior
Nichole Danehy (Billerica, Mass.) and sophomore
Caitlyn Whearty (Hampstead, N.H.) were also in the scoring column with a goal.
Grant picked up a game-high eight ground balls for Colby-Sawyer. Freshman
Kellie Lander (Ossipee, N.H.) had seven saves for the Chargers.
