Alex Ortega (Milton, Vt.) was involved in both of Colby-Sawyer's goals, which came in the second half.
After a scoreless first 45 minutes, Ortega took advantage of a sloppy clear attempt by the Spartan back line four minutes into the second stanza. He found space with possession and ripped a shot from the edge of the 18-yard box past the Castleton keeper for his team leading fourth goal of the season.
Eight minutes later, the Colby-Sawyer offensive pressure resulted in a corner kick. Ortega sent the Chargers' lone corner kick of the game towards the box where freshman
Denali Sexton (Barrington, R.I.) was waiting. Sexton used his head to deflect the ball into the back of the net for his third tally of the season.
"This game was a testament of the hard work the team has put in throughout the season," said Head Coach
Craig Wilkinson. "The team played a full 90 minutes and each player did his job in order to get the win.
Nick Austin has been tremendous in net for us, helping us to our third straight clean sheet. Everyone played well today, especially our back four."
