As a senior: Ortega, a team captain, outdid his impressive junior campaign by a point in 2014. The senior forward scored 11 goals and handed out a team best eight assists. He exits Colby-Sawyer with the second most points (72), second most goals (28) and fourth most assists (16) in program history. The 30 points tallied in 2014 is tied for the second most in a season. Ortega was named to the All-NAC Second Team and finished the year ranked 27th in the nation with five game-winning goals.Â
As a junior: Ortega had a career year with 13 goals and three assists to lead the Colby-Sawyer offensive attack. He played in all of the Chargers' 21 games and recorded three game-winning goals. Ortega was named to the All-NAC First Team and earned a Player of the Week nod during the season. His 13 goals and 29 points both ranked second for a single season in program history.Â
As a sophomore: Ortega played in all 18 games and had one assist.Â
As a freshman: Ortega was tied for the team lead with 12 points on four goals and four assists in his first season. He scored one game-winner and was 1-1 on penalty kicks.Â
At Milton: Alex was a First Team All-State selection and a member of the Lake Division Championship teams for all four years. Alex is a member of the National Honor Society.
Personal: Son of Ms. Braddock and Mr. Ortega. Has a brother named Paul. Alex is a Sport Management major.
