WOMEN'S LACROSSE GEARS UP FOR FIRST CONFERENCE GAME

New London, NH – The Colby-Sawyer women's lacrosse team opens up GNAC conference play on Saturday afternoon in New Haven, Connecticut against Albertus Magnus College. 

The Chargers are 3-0 on the year having most recently won 13-11 against Fitchburg State University on Wednesday afternoon. The Chargers have scored 12 or more goals in each game of the season so far. 

The Falcons will play their season opener on Saturday. This will also start a four-game home stretch for the Falcons as they will play Anna Maria, Old Westbury, and Saint Joseph's College of Maine. 

The Chargers: 

  • Lauren Vignola (Ringwood, NJ) – Vignola currently leads the GNAC in goals with 14. 

  • Rose Finlayson (Hopkinton, NH) – Finlayson is currently 3rd in the GNAC in assists with seven. 

  • Cecilia Ponzini (Windham, NH) – Ponzini has four goals, three assists, and 10 ground balls in three games this season. 

The Falcons: 

  • Alexys Signor – Signor scored 10 goals and recorded 21 ground balls last season. 

  • Julianna Montana – Montana scored seven goals and recorded four assists last season. 

  • Briony Retasket – Retasket had 36 draw controls and 23 caused turnovers last season. 

The Historical Matchup: 

This will be the fourth all-time meeting between the two teams. 

Looking Ahead: 

After this game, the Chargers will play Vermont State University Castleton on Wednesday.
