FRANCONIA, N.H. - The Colby-Sawyer alpine ski team took on the UNH Carnival this weekend which was home of the EISA Championship. The Chargers would have 5 different athletes qualify for second runs throughout the carnival.
Rapid Recap:
- The carnival would kick off with Giant Slalom where on the women's side, two Chargers would qualify for second runs. Junior, Maren Elvidge (Steamboat Springs, Colo.) and First Year, Abby Kantor (Highgate, VT) would both make their way to a second run on the day. Elvidge would go on to finish 56th overall while Kantor would go on to finish 58th overall.
- Junior, Jackson Musial (Bartlett, N.H.) would go on to continue his spectacular season with another second run qualification. Musial would finish 42nd overall with a time of 2:19.59 which was just +6.49 behind winner Oscar Zimmer.
- The team would shift gears to the Slalom on Saturday where they continued their amazing weekend. Elvidge would qualify for a second run, as would Graduate student, Abby Larrabee (Durham, Calif.) andSophomore, Ashley Garside (Silver Lake, N.H.). Elvidge would lead the way finishing 51st overall, while Garside would finish 52nd, and Larrabee would come in at 53rd.
- Musial would qualify for a second run in Slalom after an amazing first run. He would go on to finish 27th overall with a time of 1:30.51 which is just +2.33 behind the winner Jayden Buckrell.
