Box Score HENNIKER, N.H. - April 26, 2014 - The six seed Colby-Sawyer women's lacrosse team upset third seed New England College, 14-10 in Saturday's North Atlantic Conference (NAC) Tournament first round game.
The Chargers improve to 4-12 and will travel to second seed Thomas College on Tuesday for a NAC Tournament semifinal contest. The time has not been determined. In an earlier meeting this season in New London, Thomas came away with a 13-10 road victory. New England College ends the season at 5-13.

Alyssia Janak (Bourne, Mass.) netted four goals and added two assists to lead the Chargers.
NEC would build an early 3-0 lead netting three goals in the opening three minutes of play, including a free-position goal by Emily Bamberger (Brimfield, Mass.). Colby-Sawyer answered with three straight goals over the next 10 minutes knotting the game at 3-3.
The Pilgrims regained the one goal lead thanks to a score by Kate Levy (Falmouth, Mass.) assisted by Bamberger. The Chargers then came through with five goals building their largest lead of the half up 8-4 with 4:10 remaining. NEC's Allison Granata (Norwalk, Conn.) notched the final score of the half assisted by Gabriella Bigos (Branford, Conn.) sending the Pilgrims into halftime trailing 8-5.
Colby-Sawyer's
Alyssia Janak would strike first in the second half scoring an unassisted goal just two minutes in putting the Chargers up 9-5. NEC got two quick goals cutting the lead to 9-7 but again Colby-Sawyer would keep the Pilgrims at bay with back-to-back goals rebuilding their four goal lead.
The Pilgrims would get within two goals down the stretch but the Charger offense would come through with two insurance scores by Janak en route to the eventual 14-10 victory.

Sara Berry (Bowdoinham, Maine) finished with three goals, while
Maryalice Gurnee (South Portland, Maine) netted two goals and dished out an assist.
NEC's Emily Bamberger led the Pilgrims with two goals and three assists, while Jacquelyn Lane (Scituate, Mass.), Kasondra Moniz (East Providence, R.I.) and Allison Granata recorded two goals each.
Colby-Sawyer outshot NEC 36-26 and held the 32-21 advantage in ground balls.
Picking up the win in net for Colby-Sawyer was
Kellie Lander (Ossipee, N.H.) who finished with 10 saves. NEC keeper Mackenzie Meegan (Phoenix, Ariz.) finished the game with an impressive 18 saves.
