Box Score NEW LONDON, N.H. – February 15, 2014 – The Colby-Sawyer men's basketball team celebrated senior day with a 94-66 win over New England College in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) play Saturday afternoon.

With the win the Chargers improve to 12-10 overall and 11-5 in NAC play while the Pilgrims fall to 7-16 overall and 4-12 in the NAC.
Prior to the start of today's game, seniors
Stephen Thorpe and
David Oriettas were recognized for their careers as members of Chargers' basketball team.
The Chargers utilized five players in double figures en route to the 94-66 win. The junior class performed well as
Koang Thok,
Zach Bean and
Mike Dias combined for 56 points. Thok had a team-high 21 points, shooting 8 of 11 from the field and 3 of 4 from the three point line. Bean scored 18 points, hitting four three pointers and shooting 7 of 14 from the field. Dias ended up one rebound shy of a double-double as he scored 17 points and grabbed nine rebounds.
Sophomores
Peter Donato and
Wol Majong each tallied double figures. Donato scored 13 points, grabbed eight rebounds and added a block. Majong scored 11 points, had two rebounds and two steals.
Seniors
Stephen Thorpe and
David Oriettas each had career days. Thorpe tallied a career-high 11 assists which is tied for third most by a Charger in a single game. He also added five steals and three rebounds. Oriettas matched his career-high with six points. He was 2 of 2 from the field, 2 of 2 from the free throw line and grabbed four rebounds.
The Pilgrims were led by juniors Joel DeMadet (Brooklyn, N.Y.) and Jonathan Byrnes (Bethel, Conn.). DeMadet scored a game high 23 points, shooting 9 of 13 from the field and a perfect 5 of 5 from the free throw line. He also added three rebounds, an assist and a block. DeMadet scored 17 points, shooting 7 of 12 from the field, 3 of 6 from the free throw line and added three rebounds, three steals and an assist.
Colby-Sawyer outscored the Pilgrims in the paint 40-38, off turnovers 30-6, second chance points 16-2 and the Chargers' reserves added 46 points to the Pilgrim's 17.
The first half featured four tied scores and two lead changes before the Chargers gained separation to go into the half up 40-32. Colby-Sawyer utilized their hot shooting in the second half connecting on 6 of 12 three point attempts and shot 21 of 38 from the field to outscore the Pilgrims 54-34 en route to the 94-66 win.
For the game, the Chargers shot 51% from the field, 42% from the three point line and 67% from the free throw line. The Pilgrims were held to 48% from the field, 33% from the three point line and shot 46% from the free throw line.
Both teams will conclude North Atlantic Conference play this week. Colby-Sawyer hosts Lyndon State College on Thursday at 7:30pm and finishes up the conference schedule at Johnson State College on Saturday. New England College hosts Johnson State College Thursday and travels to Lyndon State College Saturday.
