MEN'S BASKETBALL FALLS TO SECOND SEEDED MONKS

Standish, ME – The Colby-Sawyer men's basketball team traveled to Maine on Saturday to face the Saint Joseph's College of Maine men's basketball team. 

Rapid Recap: 

  • Tevin Edmunds (Manchester, NH) made a layup for the Chargers early in the game. Elijah Thomas (Fairfax, VA) made a layup. Andrew Blunt (Alexandria, VA) scored a three in the next offensive possession for the Chargers. Tobey Bellows (Waterbury, VT) scored a layup. Thomas scored the next two Colby-Sawyer baskets. Logan Lapierre Caissie (Ontario, Canada) added a jumper. Blunt scored his second three of the game. Bellows added a layup. The Monks led 41-20 at the half. 

  • Bellows and Thomas each scored a layup for the Chargers in the beginning of the second half. Thomas and Edmunds scored layups. Thomas scored two more layups for the Chargers. Lapierre Caissie made his second jumper of the game. Thomas drained a three with 8:19 to go. Edmunds and Blunt both made baskets. Thomas, Lapierre Caissie, and Dante De Moor (Ronse, Ooost-Vlaanderen) all scored buckets for the Chargers. The Monks won the match 101-50. 

Inside the Numbers: 

  • Thomas scored a career-high 20 points on Saturday. 

  • Edmunds ended the game on eight points and five rebounds. 

  • Blunt ended the game on eight points and four rebounds. 

  • Wani Donato led the scoring for the Monks with 20 points. 

  • The Chargers scored 34 points in the paint. 

Up Next: 

The Chargers will travel to Newton, Massachusetts to play Lasell University on Tuesday evening.
