A native of Barre, Vermont Shannon Sciria has built a well-rounded and respected career in New England basketball, both as a player and coach. He currently brings a wealth of experience, passion, and leadership to Colby-Sawyer College. Shannon’s experience is backed by years of coaching across multiple NCAA Division II and III institutions.
Shannon played college basketball at Colby-Sawyer College under the legendary head coach Bill Foti. His time at Colby-Sawyer helped shape his understanding of the game and sparked his lifelong dedication to coaching and player development.
After earning his bachelor's degree from Colby-Sawyer, he continued his education with a master’s degree in Sport Management from Southern New Hampshire University, further enhancing his knowledge of athletic administration and leadership.
His coaching résumé includes assistant coaching roles at several respected programs, including Saint Anselm College, Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU), Rivier University, Colby-Sawyer College, and most recently New England College. Throughout these tenures Sciria has been instrumental in recruiting, player development, scouting, and fostering a strong team culture.
Sciria also served as the head coach at Pembroke Academy, where he guided a rebuilding program back to the State tournament in just 2 seasons.
Off the court He lives with his wife Amanda, their two sons, Luca and Myles, and their beloved dog Lola. His dedication to family mirrors his commitment to the teams he coaches—always prioritizing connection, development, and long-term success.
