MEN'S BASKETBALL FINISHES UP THEIR ROAD SCHEDULE AGAINST LASERS

Newton, MA – The Colby-Sawyer men's basketball team was on the road on Tuesday to take on Lasell University. 

Rapid Recap: 

  • Logan Lapierre Caissie (Ontario, Canada) scored two early buckets in the match. Tevin Edmunds (Manchester, NH) and Tobey Bellows (Waterbury, VT) both added buckets to the score. The Lasers went on a 12-0 run. But the Chargers stayed strong, as Sean Peterson (Chester, NH) and Bellows each made a layup. Edmunds and Dante DeMoor (Ronse, Ooost-Vlaanderen) also added layups. The Lasers led 52-20 at the half. 

  • Elijah Thomas (Fairfax, VA) made a bucket early in the second half. Bellows drained a three almost four minutes after the start of the half. Lapierre Caissie and Bellows both made a layup. Lapierre Caissie added a jump shot, as Dominic Rodriguez (Springfield, MA) scored a three soon thereafter. Edmunds scored a jump shot. Derek Mendez (El Paso, TX) made a three for the Chargers. Peterson scored a layup, followed by a dunk from Thomas. Peterson made a three with 7:34 to go in the game. Bellows and Peterson both scored layups. Andrew Blunt (Alexandria, VA) made a layup. The Lasers won the game 102-61. 

Inside the Numbers: 

  • Bellows led the scoring for the Chargers with 13 points. 

  • Lapierre Caissie scored 12 points on Tuesday. 

  • Peterson ended the game on nine points. 

  • Tyler Costin led the scoring for the Lasers with 28 points. 

  • The Chargers scored 34 points in the paint. 

Up Next: 

The Chargers will play their last game of the season on Saturday at the Hogan Sports Center at 3pm against Albertus Magnus.
