NEW LONDON, N.H. - April 16, 2013 - The Colby-Sawyer baseball team defeated New England College, 10-2 in game one of Tuesday's doubleheader. The second game was postponed due to rain.

Cameron Knight hit a sacrifice fly that scored
Alex Fredette.
Colby-Sawyer took a 3-0 advantage in the second inning on an RBI single from
Kyle Greenwood, who then came around on a run scoring single by Fredette.
The Chargers then erupted for seven runs in the third inning to put the game out of reach. Knight, Fredette,
Sean Gavin, and
Andy Lapple each had a run scoring single in the inning. Greenwood and
Vinny Monahan was credited with a RBI when they each earned a bases loaded walk.
The Pilgrims got two runs back in the fifth inning. Jordan Hubbard led off with a double and came around to score on a sacrifice fly from teammate Christopher Smith. Kevin Caputo then knocked in Conor Crouse with one of his team best two hits on the day.
Reigning NAC Pitcher of the Week,
Kevin Keith, earned his fifth win of the season after tossing a complete game. He surrendered just one earned run and struck out six.
Matt Valley took the loss for the Pilgrims. He gave up nine runs in 2.1 innings of work.
The Chargers host Castleton on Thursday for a NAC doubleheader at 2:00 pm. New England College will play a single game at Rivier on Thursday with a first pitch scheduled for 7:00 pm.
