AUBURNDALE, Fla. - March 13, 2013 - The Colby-Sawyer College baseball team fell to RPI, 15-7 in a single nine inning game under the lights on Wednesday.
Both teams go to 4-2 on the season. The Chargers will play a pair of seven inning games against SUNYIT at the Lake Myrtle Complex on Thursday. First pitch is scheduled for 3:00 pm.
Tyler Stotz,
Vinny Monahan, T.J. O'Connor and
Mike Swanson each had a pair of hits in the game.
The Chargers went on top 6-0 after scoring a pair of runs in in top of the first and four more in the second. Senior
Cameron Knight hit a three-run home run in the 2nd.

Dave Maestri worked a flawless first three innings before getting into trouble in the fourth. The first three batters reached via the free pass and RPI would send nine men to the plate and score five runs in the frame. Shane Matthews and Tyler Listing each had a two-RBI double in the inning.
RPI took its first lead of the game (7-6) in the bottom of the 5th on a run scoring single and a sacrifice fly.
The Chargers tied the game in the 7th on a double steal, but RPI struck for three runs in the bottom half of the inning to take a 10-7 lead.
RPI added five runs in the bottom of the 8th to secure the victory. Ash Rao worked two innings of relief and struck out four Colby-Sawyer batters.
