Box Score MEDFORD, Mass. - November 19, 2013 - The Colby-Sawyer women's basketball team was handed a 74-33 loss by 10th ranked Tufts at Cousens Gym on Tuesday evening.

Twelve players scored points for Tufts (3-0), led by 12 from junior Hayley Kanner. She added five rebounds, four blocks and two assists. Junior Hannah Foley finished with 10 points and seven rebounds for the Jumbos. Junior Kelsey Morehead paired eight points with four assists.
Colby-Sawyer (0-3) was paced by 10 points and five steals from
Lexi Iannone.
Kelsey Bragdon recorded eight points for the Chargers, while
Kelsey Cahill had a team-high eight rebounds to go with five points.
Tufts didn't score in the first five minutes of the game, but got it together and led 11-1 at the 13:26 mark. Senior Liz Moynihan had the last five points of the 11-0 run. Iannone hit a three at the other end for the Chargers, making it 11-4. However, Tufts scored the next six - four by Hannah Artner - and led by double-digits the rest of the way.
The Jumbo advantage was 29-8 on Ali Berman's lay-up with 4:48 on the clock and Tufts' first-half margin touched 24 twice. The hosts held Colby-Sawyer to just 16.7 percent shooting in the first half (4/24). Kanner had eight points, four rebounds and four blocks for Tufts in the first half. Foley had five points, six rebounds and two steals at the break.
Iannone led Colby-Sawyer with five points to go with four steals in the first half.
Katie McCarthy was at three points with four rebounds through the first 20 minutes.
It was more of the same in the second half as the Jumbos extended their lead. They were up 48-17 on a lay-up by Michela North at 15:15 of the second half. The lead peaked at 43 points, 74-31, after a three-pointer by sophomore Nicole Brooks with 4:10 on the clock.
Tufts forced the Chargers into 24.4 percent (11/45) shooting overall and 32 turnovers. The Jumbos had 16 assists and 16 steals while shooting 44.4 percent on threes (8/18). They won the battle of the boards 42-34.
The Chargers will play at Suffolk on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
