HENNIKER, N.H. – April 28, 2012 - Senior
Brittney Murphy (Woburn, Mass.) tied Tara Stewart's '08 career goal mark of 198, after scoring five times in today's game. The Chargers fell at New England College, 23-12 in the North Atlantic Conference (NAC) East semifinals on Saturday afternoon.
With the win the Pilgrims improve to 10-8 on the season and will square off against the winner of the Castleton State College/University of Maine Farmington semifinal on Sunday, April 29 in the NAC East Championship hosted by Castleton. With the loss the Chargers even their overall record at 8-8.
The Pilgrims would get on the board first as Chantale Lacroix (Manchester, N.H.) would notch her 39th goal of the season just 24 seconds into play. The Chargers would respond netting the next three goals, including a
Brittney Murphy (Woburn, Mass.) goal on a Colby-Sawyer free-position.
The two teams would continue to exchange goals as the game would be knotted at 6-6 with 15 minutes remaining in the first half. NEC would grab the 7-6 lead on an Amanda Naimie (York, Maine) free-position goal and then the Pilgrims would explode for nine straight goals building a 16-6 lead with 2:47 on the clock.
Colby-Sawyer would get a goal back with just over a minute on the clock but NEC's Lacroix would respond with a free-position shot with 10 ticks left on the clock sending the Pilgrims into halftime up 17-7.
NEC would continue to control much of the offense in the second half of play opening with four straight goals to build a 21-7 lead. NEC would lead 23-8 with just over six minutes remaining in the game before Colby-Sawyer would close out the game with four straight goals giving the Pilgrims the 23-12 victory.
Leading the way for the Pilgrims was NEC's leading scorer Amanda Naimie who finished with eight goals and an assist. NEC's Chantale Lacroix netted three goals and dished out three assists, while Emily Bamberger (Brimfield, Mass.) finished with six goals for the Pilgrims.

Brittney Murphy who finished with five goals and two assists. Colby-Sawyer Michele Upham netted two goals and
Kate Rial (Chester Springs, Pa.) finished with a goal and an assist.
Picking up the win in net for NEC was Rebecca Harvey (Natick, Mass.) who finished with seven saves. Sharing time in net for Colby-Sawyer was
Adrienne Bender (Wakefield, R.I.) who recorded five saves and
Jess Buckley (Shrewsbury, Mass.) who finished with a save.
