NEW LONDON, N.H. – April 11, 2012 – The New England College women's lacrosse team posted a 20-16 road victory over Colby-Sawyer in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) East Division contest on Wednesday afternoon.
New England College improves to 5-7 overall and remains unbeaten in the NAC at 3-0. Colby-Sawyer pulls even at 6-6 overall and suffers its first NAC setback to fall to 2-1.

Brittney Murphy's (Woburn, Mass.) tally 1:59 into the game. New England College scored the next eight goals capped by junior Sarah Merrill's (Dover, N.H.) first goal of the game.
The Pilgrims ended the first half by scoring four of the last six goals to take a 12-5 advantage into the break.
The home team came out firing in the second half, rattling off six of the first seven goals scored in the frame.
After each team traded a pair of goals, the Pilgrims put the game away with four unanswered goals in an eight minute stretch. Colby-Sawyer added three late goals, but it was not enough to make the comeback as the away team won 20-16.
Senior Amanda Naimie (York, Maine), the conference's leading goal scorer, led all players with seven goals. Senior Chantale Lacroix (Manchester, N.H.) added five goals, while junior Meredith Merce (Oakhurst, N.J.) and sophomore Emily Bamberger (Brimfield, Mass.) each scored three times. Merrill scored twice.

Laurel Bauer (Bradford, N.H.) led Colby-Sawyer with five goals apiece. Murphy also had a game best five assists. Freshman

Kate Rial (Chester Springs, Pa.) each had one goal.
New England College junior goalie Rebecca Harvey (Natick, Mass.) earned the win and made seven saves.
Sophomore
Adrienne Bender (Wakefield, R.I.) took the loss for the Chargers. She allowed 17 goals and made eight saves. Freshman
Jess Buckley (Shrewsbury, Mass.) saw nine minutes in net and made one save. She surrendered three goals.
Colby-Sawyer hosts Husson on Saturday at noon, while New England College travels to Castleton on Saturday for a matchup under the lights at 7:00 pm. Castleton and the Pilgrims are each 3-0 in conference play.
