Baseball Splits with SUNYIT

EAGLE LAKE, Fla. - March 6, 2011 - The Colby-Sawyer baseball team split a pair of games with SUNYIT on Sunday. The Chargers won game one 6-4, but fell in game two 7-2. The Chargers are now 3-1 through their first four games of the season.

PJ Singster made his first collegiate start in game one for the Chargers. He went 6 1/3 and to lift Colby-Sawyer to the 6-4 victory. Jordie Scheiner finished the game to pick up the save.

Colby-Sawyer had just two hits, but were aided by several miscues from SUNYIT. Brandon McFadden went 1-2 with a run batted in.

In game two, Greg Mehuron knocked in a run with a triple, while Jon Wylie added a RBI double to account for Colby-Sawyer's two runs.

Kevin Keith had a solid first start for the Chargers and threw five innings.
