WENHAM, Mass. - April 19, 2010 - The Colby-Sawyer baseball team lost both ends of a twin bill with Gordon on Monday afternoon. The Fighting Scots took game one 13-1 and game two 6-4. Gordon's overall record is now 14-16 and the team is 8-12 in league play. Colby-Sawyer drops to 13-15 and is 8-10 in league play.
Righthander Rob Hinckley tossed a complete game 2-hitter in the first game and the Fighting Scots offense was boosted by homeruns from Eric Wolak, Stephen Kefalas, and Chris Moran. The 2-run blast by Kefalas was his 9th of the season and tied Jordan Alcott's ('04) record for single season homeruns.
The game was blown open in the second inning when Gordon scored 7 runs, all with 2 outs. Andrew Zgrablich started the scoring by drawing a full-count walk. Kefalas lofted a 2-run single, and Stephen Myhren added an RBI base hit to left field. Wolak capped the inning by launching a 3-run shot to left.
Gordon tacked on 2 more runs in the bottom of the 4th on Kefalas' 2-run blast to right field. They scored 4 in the 5th, starting with Moran's line drive over the wall in dead center.
Hinckley remained in complete control throughout en route to his 3rd win of the season. #

Shane Hoagboon reached on an error and took 3rd on a single from Greg Mehuron#. The two runners gave the Chargers a 2-0 lead on an RBI groundout from #
Justin Martin# and subsequent Gordon error. Gordon rallied to tie the game in the bottom of the 2nd on a 2-run single from Ben Davidson.
After the Chargers took a 3-2 lead in the 3rd inning, Gordon struck for 2 in the 4th inning, scoring on an RBI slash bunt from Christopher Mills and a single from JT Waldie.
Colby-Sawyer managed to knot the score in the 5th inning when Hoagboon singled, stole second base and scored on a base hit from Mehuron. With the score tied at 4-4, Ben Davidson gave Gordon the lead for good with a sac fly to left field. Gordon added an insurance run in the bottom of the 6th, and the Chargers were unable to further threaten Zgrablich. The senior lefthander finished with a season high 11 strikeouts, scattering only 4 hits and allowing just one run, on his way to his second win of the year.
Gordon will travel to play Salem State at 3PM on Tuesday, while Colby-Sawyer faces Eastern Nazarene at 2PM on Tuesday.
