PAXTON, Mass. - March 28, 2010 - The Colby-Sawyer baseball team dropped both ends of a double-header at Anna Maria on Sunday afternoon. The Chargers fall to 6-7 overall and 1-3 in TCCC action, while the AMCATS improve to 10-6 overall and 4-4 in the conference.
In game one, the Chargers could not get their offense going as they only mustered three hits, while the AMCATS belted 14. Jeff Scafidi threw a complete game for Anna Maria, earning his second win of the season. He gave up just the three hits, walked one and struck out nine. In addition to his work on the mound, Scafidi led the AMCATS with four RBI on two hits in four at-bats.
Game two saw Colby-Sawyer jump out to a 4-0 lead in the second inning. The AMCATS answered back in a big way, scoring seven runs on seven hits in the bottom half of the frame to take the lead, 7-4.
Anna Maria received another complete game from their starter Dean Diamantopoulos. After giving up four runs early, he settled down and surrendered just one hit the rest of the way.

Greg Mehuron had two hits and two RBI to lead the Chargers offense. Cameron Knight# also had two hits in three at-bats, scored once and drove in a run. #
Justin Martin# accounted for the fourth Colby-Sawyer RBI.
The Chargers will play again on Tuesday when the travel to face Salem State at 3:00 pm, while the AMCATS return to action on Wednesday, hosting New England College in a TCCC doubleheader beginning at 2:00 pm.
