Brittney Murphy led the Chargers with three goals and one assist, while Elaina Kennedy added two goals and one assist. Hannah CullenVictoria Bove and Samantha Draper rounded out the Charger scorers.

Colby-Sawyer got on the board first on Cullen's fourth goal of the season, but Castleton answered with five-straight scores and never looked back in improving to 2-1 on the young season. Murphy cut the lead to three with just over 21 minutes remaining, but back-to-back goals from Castleton's Katelyn Nardini (Scotia-Glenville, N.Y.) and Nicole Adams (Rutland, Vt.) pushed the lead to 7-2 with 11:29 remaining in the first half. The Chargers outscored Castleton 3-2 over the remainder of the half, and the Spartans took a 9-5 lead into the interval.

The second half belonged to the Spartans as Paproski opened the scoring just one minute in, and tallied once more just one-minute-and-thirty-six seconds later to push the lead to 11-5. Castleton never led by less than five the remainder of the contest in securing the win.

Natalie Hogeland stopped eight shots on goal and led the Chargers with seven ground balls. Deb MacEachern corralled six ground balls and had a team-high three caused turnovers.
