Pasquale's Fourth Double-Double Leads Chargers Past Gordon, 69-38

WENHAM, Mass. - February 10, 2009 - The Colby-Sawyer women's basketball team cruised to a 69-38 victory over Gordon, Tuesday evening at the Bennett Center. The loss drops Gordon to 4-18 and 3-7 in Commonwealth Coast Conference play. The Chargers improve to 14-7, 8-2 in TCCC action.

Senior Emma Pasquale (Eliot, Maine) controlled the middle for Colby-Sawyer, scoring 15 points and adding 12 rebounds, earning her fourth double-double of the season. Junior Amy Hebert (Keene, N.H.) led all scorers with a season-high 17 points including a 3-3 performance from long distance to go along with 6 assists.

After leading 31-17 at halftime, the Chargers offense turned up the heat in the early going of the second half and at one point extended their lead to 59-22.

Senior forward Erin Thames led the Fighting Scots with nine points, while Rebecca Carroll chipped in with 8. The Gordon bench saw extensive action in the loss and Kristen Weld provided the highlight of the second half with a nice backdoor pass to Catey Marshall for a layup.

Colby-Sawyer will host the University of New England on Saturday, February 14. Tip time is scheduled for 3:00 p.m.
