As a senior: Donato turned in his second straight spectacular season on the way to being named Colby-Sawyer Outstanding Male Athlete of the Year for the second consecutive year. In addition, Donato was named to the D3hoops.com All-Northeast Region third team for the second straight season. The senior, who was named NAC Defensive Player of the Year for the second straight season, led the team with 22.6 points and 8.1 rebounds per game. The 22.6 points is the third highest average in program history. He made 240 field goals which tied for second most makes in a season. Donato finished his career 10th in points (1331), second in blocks (115), sixth in rebounds (662) and seventh in field goals (544). He also garnered All-NAC First Team accolades for the second straight season, earned a pair of NAC Player of the Week awards and was named to the NAC All-Tournament Team.
As a junior: Donato had one of the best individual seasons in Colby-Sawyer men's basketball history. He led the Chargers in scoring (14.9 ppg), rebounding (6.8 rpg) and blocks (1.46 bpg) while shooting an astounding 58% from the floor ranking him 30th in the nation in FG%. He was recognized by the NAC with the rare distinction of being named both the Player of the Year and Defensive Player of the Year. Donato joins last year's Defensive Player of the Year, Stephen Thorpe '14, as the only two Chargers to win the award. Donato also earned All-NAC First Team accolades. He also was named to the D3hoops All-Northeast Region Third Team and an Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Men's Basketball Third Team All-Star. Donato is only the second Charger to be honored by D3hoops.com since inception of the award 14 seasons ago. Andrew St. Clair '06 was named All-Region three times in his career. Donato ranks seventh in career blocks with 77.
As a sophomore: Donato was the starting center for the Chargers in 2013-14. He averaged 9.6 points and 6.8 rebounds per game in 26 minutes. He led the team with 25 blocks and shot an impressive 52% from the floor. Donato grabbed a career best 13 rebounds on January 4 against Maine Maritime.
As a freshman: Donato appeared in all of the team's 27 games and led the Chargers in shooting percentage at 54.3%. He was second on the team with 4.1 rebounds per game and added 4.2 points per entry. Donato pulled down a career-high 13 rebounds on Jan. 4 against Maine Maritime.
At Portland: Peter played basketball for the Bulldogs and was named All-Conference First Team. He also earned a nod to the Senior All-Star game.
Personal: Son of John and Rebeka. Has brothers named Cosimo, Wani and Pitia and sisters named Mary, Franciska and Christina. Peter is a Sport Management major.
