As a junior: In his first completely healthy season, Gaeta had a career year. He established new career highs in batting average (.363.), which led the team, home runs (5) and RBIs (24). Starting all 37 games marked the 3rd most games a player has started in a single-season. Gaeta stole nine bases in 10 attempts and played a superb second base for the Chargers. In one of his most memorable games, Gaeta hit two home runs against Western New England on April 20, including a walk-off two-run homerun in the bottom of the seventh inning, to give the Chargers a 13-12 win. For his performance he was named the TCCC Player of the Week and was later named to the All-TCCC First Team.
As a sophomore: Hampered by a hand injury, Gaeta started 13 games and made 16 appearances overall on the season. He batted .308, collecting 12 hits in 39 at-bats.
As a freshman: In his first season, Gaeta batted .289, knocking in right runs. He started 24 games and appeared in 29 total, while registering an on-base percentage of .379. In the field, Gaeta played well defensively at second base, earning 67 putouts for a .921 fielding percentage.
At St. Mary's: Gaeta played varsity baseball for the Spartans from his eighth grade year through his graduation. Under Coach Bill Norcrass, Gaeta helped lead his squad to three straight conference championships. A two-time team captain, Gaeta was selected to the All-Conference team three straight years and was named the Co-MVP of the Catholic Central League his junior year. He has also been named an Aganis All-Star and a Brockton Invitational All-Star.
