PLYMOUTH, N.H. – After a 90 minute battle on a rainy Tuesday the Colby-Sawyer Chargers and Plymouth State University Panthers ended in a 1-1 draw.
Rapid Recap:
- The Chargers got on the attack in a hurry with a pair of shots on target in the first ten minutes with the first coming from senior Fabrice Francois (Port-au-Prince, Haiti) followed by a near goal by sophomore Jadon Baros (Colorado Springs, Colo.). The Panthers rebounded and netted the first score of the contest in 25 seconds after Baros' shot as Faisal Abdallah scored off assists by Owen Cottrill and Sondre Asheim. The Chargers had the last chances to strike before halftime, but both sophomore Jonathan Platti (North Granby, Conn.) and first year Brandon Mejia (West Palm Beach, Fla.) missed the target.
- In the second half the Chargers stayed on the attack keeping the ball in the Plymouth end. Colby-Sawyer got on the board in the 62nd minute as senior Callum Buchanan (Eastbourne, England) hit a corner that deflected into the back of the net. The Chargers kept the momentum going as Mejia and Baros both had decent looks that were each turned away by the Panther keeper. First year Yener Bartolon (West Palm Beach, Fla.) continued his stellar play with a diving save in the 81st minute to keep the game knotted at one. Senior Finn Husband (Elk Rapids, Mich.) launched a last ditch shot, but the game concluded in a 1-1 draw.
