Game Recap: Men's Soccer |

Chargers Fall to Dean in First GNAC Match

FRANKLIN, Mass. - The Colby-Sawyer men's soccer team faced off against Dean College in their first Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) match of the season. The Bulldogs were able to get on the board early to give the Chargers their first GNAC loss with a score of 2-0.  

Rapid Recap: 
  • The Bulldogs struck early in the 18th minute with a goal from Jake Richard who was assisted by Bryce King to give Dean the 1-0 advantage. Shortly after, the Bulldogs earned a penalty kick in the 27th minute that was taken by Luke Palmer to further their lead 2-0. 
  • The Chargers had their best chance in the 57th minute from sophomore Jadon Baros (Colorado Springs, Colo.) who headed the ball on target forcing a save from the Bulldog keeper. Colby-Sawyer could not find the back of the net to end the game at 2-0. 
Stats & Figures: 
  • Baros had three of his four shots on net for the Chargers with sophomore Ryan Wilson (Mattapoisett, Mass.) and senior Callum Buchanan (Eastbourne, England) each recording two shots.   
  • Yener Bartolon (West Palm Beach, Fla.) was in net for the Chargers making 11 saves and allowing two goals. 
  • The Bulldogs outshot the Chagres 20-11 with a 14-7 margin in shots on goal. 
Up Next: 
The Chargers will have a quick turnaround hosting Castleton University on Sunday, September 11th with kickoff scheduled for 12:00 PM.
