NEW LONDON, N.H. – The Colby-Sawyer Chargers battled with Husson University at Kelsey Field on Sunday in a chippy contest ending with the Eagles scoring a 4-2 victory over the Chargers.
Rapid Recap:
- The Eagles got a break early landing a penalty kick after a Charger foul in the box just seven minutes into the contest. Alejandro Mora was the beneficiary giving Husson a 1-0 advantage.
- The Eagles continued their attack as Arni Hreidarsson found the back of the net again on a breakaway to double the visitor lead. A defensive breakdown led to another Eagles score this time by Florian Gasser to bring the halftime score at 3-0.
- The Chargers started off the second half with an edge getting into the attacking zone and scoring in the 59th minute as senior Callum Buchanan (Eastbourne, England) finished a ball past the keeper on a beautiful feed from senior Fabrice Francois (Port-au-Prince, Haiti).
- The momentum continued for Colby-Sawyer with a ball sent to the corner to senior Kevin Mollison (Gorham, Maine) who found an attacking sophomore Jadon Baros (Colorado Springs, Colo.) to give the Chargers their second goal of the contest. Husson would respond late as Jarod Bolton finished a corner kick from Gasser to put the match out of reach for the Chargers.
Notes & Notables:
- Baros and Buchanan eached netted their second goal of the season, while Francois and Mollison each added their first assist of the season.
- In net sophomore Ryan Witty (Wilton, Conn.) picked up the loss allowing three scores, while stopping three shots in the first half. First year Yener Bartolon (West Palm Beach, Fla.) concluded the game for the Chargers making three saves and allowing a goal in the loss.
- Husson University out shot Colby-Sawyer by a 18-7 margin with a 10-4 on target differential.

The Chargers will next head on the road on Tuesday September 6th to Plymouth State University with a 4 PM kickoff.
