Game Recap: Women's Volleyball |

Chargers Fall to Rivier 3-0

NASHUA, N.H. - The Colby-Sawyer women's volleyball team fell in their Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) match against Rivier University (25-19, 25-15, 27-25) on Wednesday evening. 

Rapid Recap: 
  • The Raiders took the early led in the first set by getting ahead 7-1. The Chargers bounced back to tie the score at 12-12 but the Raiders pulled away with the led and secured the first set 1-0.
  • In the second set, the Raiders strung seven early points respectively to give them the upper hand. Senior captain Mia Harmon (Concord, N.H.) led the team with three kills in the second set with sophomore Katie Mollberg (Naples, Fla.) and Ameesah Cotten (Newburgh, N.Y.) each recording a kill. The Raiders extended their led to win the second set 25-15. 
  • The Chargers fought back in the third set to keep the score line close with the Raiders leading 17-16. Harmon's two service aces and a kill by senior captain Olivia Werner helped give the Chargers a 21-17 advantage. The play was back-and-forth until the very end but the Raiders would come out on top to win the match 3-0. 
Stats & Figures: 
  • Mollberg led the team in kills with five along with seven digs and two blocks. 
  • Harmon finished with four service aces with sophomore Brooke Patnode (Weare, N.H.) also recording a service ace.
  • Patnode led the team in assists with 17 along with five digs. 
Up Next: 
The Chargers will be on the road again for their next GNAC match against Emmanuel College on Saturday, October 1st.
