Buchanan's Hat Trick Leads Chargers Past Northern Vermont University - Lyndon 4-0

NEW LONDON, N.H. - The Chargers men's soccer picked up a much needed victory on Tuesday afternoon defeating Northern Vermont University - Lyndon by a 4-0 final.

Rapid Recap:
  • Colby-Sawyer kicked off the scoring in the 24th minute as first year Brandon Mejia (West Palm Beach, Fla.) laced a ball to the foot of senior Callum Buchanan (Eastbourne, England), who finished the goal past a diving keeper. The Chargers continued their success in the 42nd minute as Buchanan tallied his second goal of the day on an assist from senior Fabrice Francois (Port-au-Prince, Haiti) to extend the lead to 2-0 heading into the second half.
  • The Chargers continued their dominance in the second half with Buchanan netting an early hat trick in the 48th minute this time via sophomore Jadon Baros (Colorado Springs, Colo.). The Hornets tried to counter in the 56th minute, but the shot went high. Colby-Sawyer used the goal kick to transfer the ball into the attacking zone where senior Nick Mason (East Bridgewater, Mass.) found Baros, who then passed to Francois to get the fourth goal of the game. The Hornets would attempt one more shot in the contest as the Chargers breezed to the 4-0 win.

"It was important to get back to the winning ways after the weekend we had", said senior Callum Buchanan (Eastbourne, England).
