Rapid Recap:
  • Junior goalkeeper Lauren Wilkinson (Lynn, Mass.) recorded two crucial saves as the Amcats fired shots early in the first quarter. On the other side of the ball, the Colby-Sawyer sticks came alive as junior Aoife Daly (Harwich, Mass.) took a chance to provide the first Charger shot of the match. Three straight penalty corners in the 13th minute of the game opened another scoring opportunity for the Chargers. However, a wide shot by Larson with four seconds remaining led both teams into the second quarter scoreless.
  • Minutes into the second quarter, Larson snuck by the Anna Maria keeper to score what was ultimately the game-winning goal to give the Chargers a 1-0 advantage going into halftime.
  • Wilkinson put her body on the line, 25 seconds into the third quarter to protect their one run lead over the Amcats in which they maintained for the rest of the match.
  • The fourth quarter saw a substantial increase in the Charger offense as the team recorded 10 total shots to the opposing Anna Maria three. Eight corner services from junior Bella Silva(Danvers, Mass.) and outstanding attempts to score made by senior Chrissy Coffield (North Conway, N.H.), sophomore Aleah Murph (Portland, Maine), Larson, and graduate student Julia Lanctot (Sandown, N.H.) occupied the majority of the fourth quarter. The Amcats defense shined as they kept Colby-Sawyer scoreless in the second half dropping the match 1-0 in favor of the Chargers.
