ROCKVILLE CENTRE, N.Y. – August 31, 2019 – The Colby-Sawyer women's rugby team began the 2019 season with a convincing 94-5 victory at Molloy College on Saturday afternoon.
SCORING SUMMARY
The Chargers scored the first 21 points of the match and never looked back. Colby-Sawyer led 49-5 at the half and then outscored the Lions 45-0 in the second half.
Senior
Jordyn Enos (Salinas, Calif.) led the scorers with five tries. Sophomore
Bailey Burt (South Burlington, Vt.) contributed three tries, while sister
Jess Burt (South Burlington, Vt.) added two tries.
Sophomore
Erin Wholey (Belmont, Mass.) also finished with a pair of tries. Sophomore
Sydney Jackson (Alexandria, Va.) and first-year
Madison Hill (Bel Air, Md.) added a try apiece.
Sophomore
Julia Anhalt (Littleton, Colo.) made 12 of 14 conversion kicks in the match to account for 24 points.
Enos added a match high 12 tackles, while
Jess Burt was second in the match with nine.
Molloy held a 12-11 edge in scrums, while each team had four line outs.
