Chargers Take a Match in 7's Contest Against Norwich University

NEW LONDON, N.H. – The Colby-Sawyer women's rugby team hosted their first three 7's matches of the season at Mercer Field against Norwich University on Saturday afternoon. 

Rapid Recap:
  • The Cadets took control of the first match and would take the win with a 32-0 final.   
  • Colby-Sawyer fell in the second match to Norwich with a final score of 18-0. 
  • In the third match, the Chargers gradually improved after going down two tries early in the final match. Colby-Sawyer fought back with a try in the first hlaf through Grace McLaughlin (Brownville, Maine) who scored a second try in the second half. Senior Celina Dao (Portland, Ore.) received a yellow card for dangerous play resulting in the Chargers going down a player, but upon returning to the field Dao would redeem herself with a try in dead ball time to help deal the Chargers win. 
  • At the end of the day, McLaughlin was named player of the match.
