BRUNSWICK, Maine - April 20, 2019 - The Colby-Sawyer women's rugby 7's team won the Tier 2 championship with a 4-1 record at Saturday's Bowdoin Polar Bears 7's Tournament.
The tournament was divided into three tiers.
Tier 1:
Brown, Norwich, AIC, Northeastern, Sacred Heart
Tier 2:
Bowdoin, Colby-Sawyer, Colby, UNE, Middlebury
Tier 3:
Bowdoin B, Colby B, UNE B, Northeastern B, MMA
COLBY-SAWYER defeats COLBY - 30-0
The day began with a strong showing by the Chargers as they defeated the Mules 30-0.
Jess Burt and
Jordyn Enos had two tries apiece, while
Sydney Jackson and
Bre Scott each had one.
UNE defeats COLBY-SAWYER - 15-10
The Chargers' lone loss of the day came against UNE.
Jess Burt and
Jordyn Enos combined for the two Colby-Sawyer tries.
COLBY-SAWYER defeats BOWDOIN - 22-12
Bailey Burt,
Jess Burt,
Jordyn Enos and
Sydney Jackson each had a try, while
Julia Anhalt added a conversion.
COLBY-SAWYER defeats MIDDLEBURY - 34-10
Sara Radosevich led Colby-Sawyer with two tries. Players with one try included,
Marilyn Hohler,
Julia Anhalt,
Sydney Jackson and
Bre Scott.
Anhalt added two conversions for the Chargers.
COLBY-SAWYER defeats UNE - 26-12 - TIER 2 FINALS
Avenging a loss to the Nor'easters earlier in the day, the Chargers rebounded and defeated UNE 26-12 to win the Tier 2 finals.
Sydney Jackson had a pair of tries, while
Bailey Burt and
Jordyn Enos each added a try.
Julia Anhalt had three conversions in the match.
