NEW HAVEN, Conn. - October 26, 2019 - The Colby-Sawyer women's volleyball team picked up a pair of Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) victories at Saturday's tri-match hosted by Albertus Magnus. The Chargers earned 3-0 win over the Falcons and Anna Maria.
Colby-Sawyer improves to 16-15 overall and 6-4 in the GNAC. The Chargers will host Southern Maine on Wednesday and celebrate senior night. Anna Maria falls to 2-19 overall and 0-11 in conference play, while Albertus Magnus goes to 9-18 overal and 2-8 in the GNAC. Albertus Magnus defeated Anna Maria 3-0 in the day's first match.
COLBY-SAWYER 3, ANNA MARIA 0 - 25-13, 25-5, 25-20
Colby-Sawyer received six kills apiece from
Olivia Werner and
Maeve Powell. Each player hit .400.
Olivia Goodrich had six aces, while
Bre Sheehan tallied five.
Anna Maria was led by Bella Kozciak's six kills. Serena Dennis had a match best 11 digs.
COLBY-SAWYER 3, ALBERTUS MAGNUS - 25-22, 25-16, 25-18
The Chargers recorded 45 kills and 10 aces to finish the day with the 3-0 win over Albertus Magnus.
Rebecca Straubel led all player with 13 kills on .360 hitting to go with 13 digs.
Sam Mohammed was second on the team with 11 kills and
Naarah Cox also reached double digits with 10 kills.
Morgan Flynn led the Chargers with 18 digs, while
Anna Allen collected 36 assists.
Bre Sheehan chipped in with four aces.
Ashley David led Albertus Magnus with seven kills. Jaiden Williams finished with 15 assists, while Jesselle Guzman recorded 22 digs.
