JOHNSON, Vt. - The Colby-Sawyer men's basketball team won its regular season finale at Johnson State College, 95-74, in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action Saturday afternoon.
Colby-Sawyer improves to 16-8 overall and 13-5 in the NAC to lock up the third seed in the upcoming conference tournament. Johnson ends its season 7-18 overall and 4-14 in the NAC.
Jourdain Bell scored 25 points to lead all players. He made 10-of-11 free throw attempts.
Dana Bean finished with 22 points on 9-of-11 shooting and 10 rebounds.
Patrick Coffey added 14 points and seven assists and six rebounds.
Taylor Grande made all seven of his free throw attempts and finished with 13 points.
Johnson was led by Dawda Jallow's 14 points. Demetrius Slade had seven points, seven rebounds, six steals and four assists. Shakeel Irvin added 12 points and seven assists.
The Chargers took control early, opening the game on a 20-8 run over the first seven minutes. Colby-Sawyer continued to build their lead through the remainder of the half, taking a 55-29 advantage into the intermission.
The Badgers came out strong in the second half chipping away at the Chargers lead to pull within 13 with 11 minutes left in the game. The Chargers took back control and went on to the 95-74 win.
Colby-Sawyer shot 52.5% from the floor and 42.9% from beyond the arc, while Johnson was 38.2% from the floor and 9.5% from deep.
