Biography

As a senior: Bean, a team captain, earned his fourth all-conference award in four years as he was named to the All-GNAC Second Team. He led the team with 18.3 points and 8.0 rebounds per game. Those numbers ranked him ninth and seventh, respectively, among conference players. He also shot 58.4% from the floor to rank fourth in the GNAC. Bean finished a remarkable career ranked fifth in points with 1,688, second in rebounds with 895, second in blocks with 116, fifth in field goals made with 679 and sixth in free throws made with 327. Bean started in all 103 of his appearances as a Charger. Bean's career culminated in earning the 2020 Outstanding Senior Male Athlete Award.

As a junior: Bean received the Charger Award for Outstanding Male Athlete of the Year. He was named to the All-GNAC First Team. Bean was one of the league’s most efficient scorers, shooting 58.5% overall for 17.4 points and 9.2 rebounds per game. The shooting percentage ranked him 51st in the nation, while his 12 double-doubles ranked him 41st. He led the team with 33 blocks to move up to 5th in career bocks with 95. Bean scored double digits in all but one of his games and poured in 25 points three times. On January 12 in a win at Anna Maria, Bean became the program’s 20th member to reach 1000 career points. After three seasons, Bean ranks 17th in career scoring with 1231 points, 6th in career rebounds (694) and 9th in made free throws (269).

As a sophomore: Bean represented the Chargers on the All-NAC First Team and NAC All-Tournament Team. Bean led the team with 16.0 points and 8.4 rebounds per game. He shot an impressive 54.8% from the floor and recorded 34 blocks. He moved into ninth in career blocks with 62. Bean scored a career-high 28 points in a win over Plymouth State and recorded eight double-doubles. In a win at Thomas, Bean scored 19 points and grabbed 18 rebounds for the second time in his career. Bean earned one NAC Player of the Week award.

As a freshman: Bean was named NAC Rookie of the Year and All-NAC Second Team. He finished the NAC regular season ranked fourth in several statistical categories including rebounds (165; 9.2/game), defensive rebounds (110; 6.1/game), offensive rebounds (55; 3.1/game), and field goal percentage (56.6%). In conference play, he also tallied 301 points (16.7/game), 19 blocks and shot 80.2 percent from the free throw line. In all games, Bean finished second on the team in scoring with 14 points per game, while leading Colby-Sawyer with 9.1 rebounds per game. He recorded an impressive eight double-doubles, shot an impressive 54 percent from the field and recorded a team best 28 blocks. He earned four NAC Rookie of the Week awards, one NAC Player of the Week honor and was selected ECAC Player of the Week once. On January 3 at Johnson State, Bean grabbed an impressive 18 rebounds to come within one of the program's single-game record of 19.

At Franklin: Dana was a 1000 point scorer for the Tornadoes. He also played in the Twin State game.
