NEW LONDON, N.H. – February 15, 2018 – Colby-Sawyer sophomore Lexie Hamilton (Sunapee, N.H.) tied a career-high with 30 points to lead the Chargers past Lyndon State College, 75-45, in North Atlantic Conference (NAC) action on Thursday evening.

Colby-Sawyer improves to 19-5 overall and 14-3 in the NAC. The Chargers will end the regular season on Saturday at Johnson. Lyndon drops to 13-11 overall and 9-8 in the NAC. The Hornets will conclude the regular season at home on Saturday against New England College.

Hamilton shot 11-of-19 from the floor and made 6-of-10 three-pointers. Senior Emmani Robinson (Newburgh, N.Y.) recorded her ninth double-double with 16 points on 7-of-12 and 10 rebounds. Sophomore Tianna Sugars (Oxford, Maine) added 11 rebounds, six points and four assists.

Lyndon was led by senior Mikayla Hodge (Newbury, Vt.). She notched her 23rd double-double of the season with 13 points and an impressive 20 rebounds. She has recorded at least 20 boards four times this season. Freshman Faith Poirier (Portsmouth, N.H.) was the only other Hornet to reach double figures with 10 points.

The first quarter was back and forth for the first five minutes of action as each team shot the ball efficiently. The Chargers held a 15-14 lead with 2:23 left to go and finished the frame with eight-straight points to take a 22-14 lead after one. Hamilton had 11 points in the quarter. Colby-Sawyer scored 12 points in the paint.

The Hornets began the second quarter with a bucket from Hodge and a trey from Poirier to make the game one possession at 22-19. The Chargers turned up the defense and held Lyndon without a field goal for the next five minutes, pushing their lead to 10 in the process. Colby-Sawyer shot 42% in the frame, while Lyndon was just 4-of-17 (23.5%).

Colby-Sawyer increased its advantage in the third quarter with by outscoring Lyndon 20-13. The Chargers made four treys in the stanza, three from Hamilton and one from Mackenzie Buzzell (Lovell, Maine) to go in front 57-36 after 30 minutes.

The home team shot 50% in the fourth (7-14) and held Lyndon to just four makes on 22 attempts to win the quarter 18-9 and take the victory, 75-45.

Colby-Sawyer held a 47-45 edge on the glass. The Chargers shot 45.3% from the floor and 47.4% from beyond the arc, while limiting Lyndon to 26% from the field and 20% from long range.
