LYNDONVILLE, Vt. - January 17, 2017 - All five starters scored double digits as the Colby-Sawyer men's basketball team earned the season sweep over Lyndon with an 83-80 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) victory on Tuesday evening. The Chargers also beat Lyndon in December, 81-79.
Colby-Sawyer improves to 7-8 overall and evens its record to 4-4 in the NAC. The Chargers will host Thomas on Friday and UMaine-Farmington on Saturday. Lyndon falls to 5-8 overall and 4-5 in the conference. The Hornets will play at Pine Manor on Thursday.

Patrick Coffey (Westford, Mass.) led all scorers with 23 points. Freshman
Dana Bean (Franklin, N.H.) recorded his sixth double-double of the season and fourth in the last five games with 17 points on 7-of-11 shooting and 12 rebounds. Sophomore
Milani Hicks (Scarborough, Maine) added 16 points on 7-of-9 and eight rebounds. Sophomore
Jourdain Bell (Manchester, N.H.) contributed 14 points, while junior
Taylor Grande (Bedford, N.H.) scored 13.
Lyndon was led by Josiah Woodruff's 21 points. Eric Vargas registered 17 points and eight assists. Kevin Love added 12 points and six boards off the bench.
The Chargers built a 13-2 lead, less than six minutes into the game and then continued to hold a double digit lead at 22-11 at the midway point of the half. The Hornets found some rhythm and made a run over the next three minutes to pull within three at 27-24.
The score stayed within reach as the half progressed but Colby-Sawyer ended the half on a 6-0 run capped by a Hicks layup to take a 41-30 lead into the break.
The Hornets opened up the second stanza with back-to-back threes to cut the deficit to 41-36, but Colby-Sawyer answered with a 13-0 run for their largest lead of the game at 54-36.
Colby-Sawyer held a 75-64 with 3:32 to play, but the home team scored seven straight to cut the deficit to 75-71 with 2:00 on the clock. Lyndon brought the game to one possession at 78-75 with 32 seconds left, but the Chargers were able to knock down free throws in the closing seconds to secure the 83-80 victory.
The Chargers shot 54.4% from the floor and held a 40-33 edge on the glass. Lyndon outscored Colby-Sawyer 30-0 in bench points.
