DARTMOUTH, Mass. – September 17, 2016 – The Colby-Sawyer men's cross country team finished eighth out of 33 teams competing at Saturday's UMass Dartmouth Invitational.
The Chargers recorded 281 points in the 8k race that featured 242 runners. Teams finishing in front of Colby-Sawyer included Division II institutions Stonehill and American International. The team placed ahead of North Atlantic Conference (NAC) teams Castleton and Maine Maritime.

Scott Shaw (Norfolk, Conn.) led the Chargers with a 35th place finish in 26:19.65. Senior
Brandon Legendre (Waterford, Vt.) was close behind Shaw in 38th place at 26:25.20.
Freshman
Peter Bakker (Barkhamsted, Conn.) was the third Charger to cross the finish line. He placed 68th in 27:11.94.
Freshmen
Liam Fleming (Orford, N.H.) and
Benjamin Jones (Enfield, N.H.) rounded out Colby-Sawyer's top five. Fleming placed 77th in 27:17.67, while Jones finished 83rd in 27:25.43.
