CHARGERS PUT TOGETHER SOLID EFFORT AT GNAC CHAMPIONSHIP

NORTHFIELD, VT. - The Colby-Sawyer men's cross country team headed to Norwich University to compete in the 2025 Great Northeast Athletic Conference Cross Country Championships on Sunday afternoon.

Rapid Recap: 
  • The Chargers saw first year Evan Vitagliano (Groton, Conn.) finish in the top five as he finished 5th overall in the men's 8k to lead the Chargers. He would cross the line in a time of 27:35, which would see him finishing as a All-Conference First Team member in just his first year in the conference. 
  • Sophomore Jacob Riis (Vineyard Haven, Mass.) would finish as the second Charger across the line, as Riis would finish the 8k in a time of 37:48.
  • Matthew Gaudioso (Branford, Conn.) would finish as the third Charger across the line, with Oliver Van Hattum (Bunnik, Netherlands) right behind him as the fourth Charger across the line. Gaudioso would run a time of 44:07, while Van Hattum would come in 30 seconds later at 44:39.
  • Noah Fusco would round out the scoring for the Chargers as the fifth runner with a time of 45:30, while Parker Hilton (Hudson, N.H.) would come in at 46:46 to finish the Chargers day.
Inside the Numbers: 
  • The Chargers would finish in 7th place at the Championship with 159 points.
  • Vitagliano would be named to the GNAC First Team as a member of the top 7 runners.
