Box Score NEW LONDON, N.H. – February 8, 2014 – The Husson men's basketball team shot 63.2 percent in the second half and 59 percent for the game to earn a 71-60 North Atlantic Conference (NAC) road win at Colby-Sawyer on Saturday afternoon.

Husson improves to 19-2 overall and remains atop of the NAC standings with a 13-1 record. The Eagles will host Lyndon on Friday at 7:30 p.m. Colby-Sawyer drops to 11-9 overall and is third in the NAC with a 10-4 record. The Chargers travel to Castleton on Wednesday for a 7:30 p.m. contest.
Sophomore Trevon Butler (Waterbury, Conn.) was the only Husson player to reach double figures with 18 points. He added a team best seven rebounds and was 6-10 from the floor and 6-8 from the free throw line. Senior Mike Gonzales (Fort Washington, Md.) scored eight points and had a game-high five assists.
Colby-Sawyer was led by junior
Mike Dias (Carver, Mass.). He scored 14 points on 7-8 shooting and grabbed six boards. Sophomore
Peter Donato (Portland, Maine) had 10 points and six rebounds.
The lead changed a pair of times in the opening minutes before the visitors went on a 10-0 run capped by a pair of Dan Fleming (Fairfield, Maine) layups to take a 14-5 lead. The Chargers came within one at 21-20 after a
Wol Majong (Manchester, N.H.) jumper with 5:34 to play in the half. Trailing by three with 2:49 left, Colby-Sawyer scored the frame's final two buckets to take a 32-31 lead into the break.
Colby-Sawyer forced 17 first half turnovers, but only turned them into 11 points. Husson went 8-9 from the free throw line in the first 20 minutes.
The Eagles took the lead on the first possession of the second half on a trey by freshman Eli Itkin (Providence, R.I.).
Mike Dias knotted the game at 34-34 on the next trip down the floor, but Husson took momentum with a 10-2 run. The Chargers hung around for the next several minutes, keeping the game within two or three possessions. Husson eventually built its lead to 14 (67-53) after a pair of Butler free throws with a couple of minutes to play en route to the 71-60 victory.
Colby-Sawyer took 28 more shots than the Eagles, but was less efficient at 35.8 percent to 59 percent for Husson. The Chargers held a 24-18 edge in forced turnovers, but the Eagles scored 28 points off the miscues to Colby-Sawyer's 19.
