Box Score BANGOR, Maine – January 17, 2014 - The Colby-Sawyer men's basketball team could not withstand a three-point barrage by Husson, as the Eagles came away with a 108-63 victory in a North Atlantic Conference (NAC) tilt Friday evening.  

With the win, the Eagles improve their perfect record to 12-0 (6-0 NAC) on the season, while the Chargers fall below .500 to 6-7 (5-2 in conference).

Husson set a new school record by hitting 17 3-pointers, breaking the old mark of 15 scored in 2013 and 2005. The Eagles also set the bar high by setting a new record with a .773 percentage from 3-point land, crushing the old record of .571 set in 2005.

The Eagles offense was flowing from the start, and dominated the first half of play with an impressive display of shooting, going 19-31 from the field, including hitting 12 out of their 14 three point attempts. Husson saw three players hit double-digit point figures, with Phil Leighton (Naples, Maine) leading the way with 11 points and four rebounds. Leighton and Trevon Butler (Waterbury, Connecticut), a two-time NAC Player of the Week winner this year, both were 3-3 from behind the three point line.

Brooks Spaulding (Fairfield, Maine) added 10 points, and was a perfect 6-6 at the free throw stripe. The Eagles were also very efficient at the defensive end of the floor in the first half of play, forcing the Chargers to commit 11 turnovers.

Colby-Sawyer was led by Peter Donato (Portland, Maine) who scored a team high 8 points in the first half, and ended the night with 14 points. Wol Majong (Manchester, NH) added 12 points for the Chargers.

Donte Cottonham (Silver Spring, Maryland) and freshman Eli Itkin (Providence, Rhode Island) got in on the action for the Eagles. Cottonham finished a perfect 4-4 from behind the line and finished the game with 12 points, and Itkin finished 3-5 behind the arc and had 11 points respectfully.

Husson concludes their double header tomorrow the 18th at 1:00 PM against New England College in hopes to remain perfect, while Colby-Sawyer travels down to Maine Maritime Academy to take on the Mariners at 1:00 PM as well.

Historically Husson and Colby-Sawyer are knotted at 4-4 all-time.
