Michelle Upham (Chelsea, Vt.) recorded a hat trick to help lift the Colby-Sawyer women's soccer team to a 6-0 win over Plymouth State on Tuesday afternoon.

The Chargers improve to 6-1, while Plymouth drops to 1-3. The Panthers hold an all-time record of 17-5-1 over the Chargers, but Colby-Sawyer has won the last three meetings.
Sophomore
Tallon Tomasi (Williston, Vt.) put the home team on top 1-0 in the 19th minute after gathering a loose ball in front of the net, scoring into the right corner. The goal was her third of the season.
Colby-Sawyer went in front 2-0 five minutes later when senior
Marion James (Willsboro, N.Y.) found the foot of senior
Adrienne Bender (Wakefield, R.I.) with a perfect thru ball. Bender did the rest beating the diving keeper for her fourth tally of the season.
Upham sent the Chargers into the half with a 3-0 lead with her first goal of the game in the 37th minute. Freshman
Rachel Quaye (Westminster, Mass.) sent a cross to the left corner of the six-yard box where Upham was waiting. Upham calmly scored into the left corner of the net.
Marion James scored Colby-Sawyer's fourth goal on a header at 50:33. Sophomore
Morgan Ekstrom (Wolfeboro, N.H.) sent a cross from the right side to the front of the goal mouth where James out-jumped her defender to score the header.
Upham scored her second and third goals of the game at 77:47 and 89:09, respectively. Both goals were set up by long passes from senior
Stephanie Huntley (Woodbury, Conn.). Upham now has a team-high five goals this season.
Senior Laura Davis (Pelham, N.Y.) led the Panthers with five shots.
Sophomore
Karley Hamilton (Bradford, Vt.) made five saves en route to her fifth shutout of the season. Panther keeper Annaliese Schmidt (Newmarket, N.H.) had eight stops in the loss.
Colby-Sawyer outshot the Panthers 24-12 and held a 7-3 edge in corners.
The Chargers begin a four-game road trip on Sunday at Curry. Game time is 1:00 p.m. Plymouth hosts Keene on Saturday at 5:00 p.m.
