NEW LONDON, N.H. – The Colby-Sawyer College men's soccer team earned a crucial Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) victory on Saturday morning, holding off Regis College for a 2-1 win at Kelsey Field.

Both defenses dictated the early tempo, but Colby-Sawyer broke the scoreless tie late in the first half. At the 40:39 mark, Senior Kaden Lewis (Lunenburg, Mass.) delivered a through ball to First Year Hunter Joseph (Merrimack, N.H.), who tucked home his first goal of the season to give the Chargers a 1-0 advantage going into the break.

The Chargers doubled their cushion in the 59th minute on another setup by Lewis. Lewis crossed a pass to First Year Christian Warner (Miramar, Fla.), who finished at 58:52 for his first tally of the campaign to make it 2-0.

Regis answered three minutes later to cut into the deficit. Justin Brown linked up with Jeremy Romero, who beat the keeper at 61:53 to make it a one-goal game at 2-1.

The Pride pushed forward in search of an equalizer down the stretch, but Colby-Sawyer's defensive back line stood firm over the final 28 minutes to seal the conference victory.
