FRANKLIN, Mass. – The Colby-Sawyer College men's soccer team opened Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) action on Saturday afternoon, battling Dean College to a 1-1 draw at Longley Field.

Colby-Sawyer struck early to seize the momentum, breaking through in the 15th minute. Sophomore Landon Blanco (Boca Raton, Fla.) slipped a pass to Junior Colin Riley-Perec (Plymouth, Mass.), who tucked home his first goal of the season at 14:21 to put the Chargers in front, 1-0.

The Chargers carried their one-goal cushion into the break after holding Dean to just two shots in the opening 45 minutes.

The Bulldogs found the equalizer six minutes into the second half when Nate Beturne converted a penalty kick at the 51:15 mark to level the contest at 1-1.

Both sides traded offensive bids and defensive stops down the stretch, but neither back line yielded another score over the final 38 minutes as the conference opener ended in a deadlock.
