MEN'S BASKETBALL KEEPS IT CLOSE AGAINST GNAC FOE REGIS

New London, NH – The Colby-Sawyer men's basketball team played against Regis College in GNAC conference play on Wednesday evening at the Hogan Sports Center. 

Rapid Recap: 

  • Logan Lapierre Caissie (Ontario, Canada) kicked things off for the Chargers with two early buckets. Dominic Rodriguez (Springfield, MA) scored a jumper, which was followed by a jumper from Lapierre Caissie. Tevin Edmunds (Manchester, NH) and Emmanuel Adarkwa (Lawrenceville, GA) each added baskets to the score. Tobey Bellows (Waterbury, VT) made a three with about six minutes left in the half. Bellows added two jumpers. Adarkwa and Lapierre Caissie each scored another basket. Regis led 40-26 at the half. 

  • The Chargers started the second half strong with a jumper and a three from Bellows. Edmunds and Bellows converted layups. Lapierre Caissie and Bellows each made layups for the Chargers. Bellows scored seven consecutive points, by making a three, a jumper, and a layup. Edmunds and Andrew Blunt (Alexandria, VA) both made baskets. Bellows drained a three with 5:38 to go in the game. Lapierre Caissie made a layup. With less than a minute to go, Derek Mendez (El Paso, TX) made a three and Edmunds made a layup. 

Inside the Numbers: 

  • Bellows scored a career-high 29 points on Wednesday. 

  • Lapierre Caissie ended the game on 13 points. 

  • Edmunds scored eight points on Wednesday. 

  • Jamir Harvey led the scoring for the Pride with 24 points. 

  • The Chargers scored 38 points in the paint. 

Up Next: 

The Chargers will next travel to Standish, Maine to play against Saint Joseph's College on Maine on Saturday.
